
Nicholas J. Tabori
Lieutenant, U.S. Coast Guard
Lieutenant
Junior Grade Tabori graduated from the University of Maryland with a
Bachelors of Science in Finance in 2001. During his 4 years attending
University he worked for several federal and state government agencies
including the Federal Aviation Administration in the International Security
Office, the American Embassy in Stockholm Sweden in the Information
Management Office, and in the W-RP office of the U.S. Coast Guard working
on the Fiscal Year Payroll Budget.
In
2002 LT Tabori was picked up for Officer Candidate School. Upon graduation
from OCS LT Tabori reported to the Coast Guard Cutter MUNRO stationed
in Alameda California. On the MUNRO he stood as an Underway Officer
of the Deck and worked as the Administrative Officer and the Combat
Information Control Officer. He was also qualified as a Boarding Officer
where he was on the boarding of an 80 foot Columbian fishing vessel
off the coast of 'Mexico resulting in the seizure of 2.5 tons of uncut
cocaine.
In April of 2004 LT Tabori reported to the Coast Guard Cutter ADAK as
the Executive Officer in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation
Noble Eagle in South West Asia. Home ported in the country of Bahrain
the ADAK spent 5400 hours underway during IS patrols completing various
missions in the Northern, Central, and Southern Arabian Gulf. As
the primary Boarding Officer he conducted over 30 boardings in a high
treat environment protecting critical Iraqi infrastructure, and deterring
international terrorist activates.
On
June 23rd of 2005 LT Tabori assumed command of the 87 foot Coast Guard
Cutter SAILFISH. The Cutter SAILFISH's primary duties are to conduct
Port Waterway and Coastal Security, Search and Rescue, and Protection
of Living Marine Resources. Since taking command LT Tabori has lead
the SAILFISH through over a dozen high visibility events in the New
York harbor and over 150 boarding in support of Operation Atlantic Venture.
Notable events have included security for the United Nations General
Assembly, security to the New York 4"' of July fireworks event,
security for high interest and high value shipping, and the prosecution
of the Fishing Vessel Cindisea for violations of state and federal laws
involving smuggling.

Tabori was raised in University Park Maryland. In August he will transfer
command of the CGC SAILFISH and report to the Coast Guard Command Center
at Head Quarters in Washington D.C.

Scott C. Mitchell
Lieutenant Junior Grade, U.S. Coast Guard
Lieutenant Junior Grade Mitchell graduated with honors
from the United States Coast Guard Academy with a Bachelors of Science
in Operations Research and Computer Analysis. During his four years
attending the Academy he was a four year starter on the Men's Varsity
Soccer team.
Upon his graduation from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy
LTjg Mitchell reported to the Coast Guard Cutter BEAR stationed in Portsmouth,
Virginia. During his two year lour on the BEAR he stood watches as an
Underway and Import Officer of the Deck and worked as the First Lieutenant,
Deck Department l lead. His collateral duties were primary Boarding
Officer and Mission Commander for OPERATION NEW FRONTIER law enforcement
missions, Aviation Training Team Leader, Law Enforcement Training Team
leader and Educational Service Officer. As a Boarding Officer, he led
three boardings off the coast of Colombia and two hoardings off the
coast of Haiti that resulted in the seizure of a total 6.2 tons of uncut
cocaine, $375,000 of laundered drug money and the repatriation of 285
Haitian migrants.
In May of 2006, LTjg Mitchell reported to the Coast
Guard Cutter BARANOF as the Executive Officer in support of OPERATION
IRAQI FREEDOM and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Stationed in the Kingdom
of Bahrain, the LTjg Mitchell spent over 5400 hours underway completing
various missions in the Northern and Central Arabian Gulf. While assigned
to the CGC BARANOF LTjg Mitchell's primary duties included Underway
Officer of the Deck and Primary Boarding Officer, among many other collaterals.
During his one year tour of duty onboard BARANOF, he completed over
130 security sweeps of dhows, service tugs and deep draft motor tankers,
worked closely with coalition forces to train Iraqi Marines and Iraqi
Navy in law enforcement tactics and defended vital assets in a high
threat environment critical to Iraqi oil infrastructure.
LT jg Mitchell's awards and insignias include two Commendation
Medals, an Achievement Medal, Commandant's Letter of Commendation, Iraqi
Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Global War
on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; all with Operational Distinguishing
devices.
LTjg Mitchell was raised in Freehold, New Jersey
and graduated from Freehold Township High School in 2000. As a follow
on tour, he plans on attending Post Graduate School at the Joint Military
Intelligence College located in Washington, D.C. for his Masters Degree
in Intelligence.
