DINNER MEETING PLANNED On Tuesday, October 24, 2006, the Council will have its final dinner meeting for the year. Our guests will be the new Commanding Officer from our adopted cutters the Bainbridge Island and the Katherine Walker, as well as Captain O'Brien, the new Commanding Officer from Coast Guard Sector New York. Our special guest of honor will be Captain William Robertson, Commanding Officer of Naval Weapons Station Earle. Captain Robertson will be departing as CO on or about October 27, 2006, so this is our final moments with him. As is customary, we shall meet at the East Brunswick Chateau for a cocktail hour of 6:00 pm and a dinner hour of 7:00 pm. Our formal program will begin after dinner. Please use the enclosed form to reserve your space or contact Dan Dermer at (732) 257-7999. Please plan on attending this dinner so you can personally welcome the new CO as well as wish Captain Robertson your very best. Fish, Beef or Chicken will be your selection for an entree. UPDATE: CAPT ROBERTSON WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THIS DINNER EVENT DUE TO OTHER COMMITMENTS. |

Sea Cadet Scuttlebutt by Bill Altken-Sea Cadet Chairperson In July of 2006. local units of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps held their annual boot camp at Ft. Dix, NJ. The boot camps' Commanding Officer was LtCmdr. Ed Troche and his Executive Officer was Senior Chief Ed Meeks, the CO of our own Aegis Division. The boot camp was also attended by Lt. Montv Zaks our Council's PAO. Also in attendance were most of all of the officers from both our units, the Aegis Division and the BB-62 Division. Despite oppressive heat, all cadets in attendance passed the requirements of the boot camp. BRAVO ZULU to all the cadets and officers. especially from our adopted units. Upcoming Events for the Aegis Division include an outdoor billet at Ft. Dix and an Awards Ceremony to be held on Sunday. 12/17/06. |
