Council Milestones

At the final meeting of the Council for 2006, several significant milestones were reached. The Audit Committee presented their report which was unanimously accepted and approved for distribution by the Council's Officers and Board of Directors. The Council is indebted to the hard work of the Committee Members. A copy of the report is enclosed with this newsletter.

The By-Laws Committee presented for the required 3rd reading the proposed Constitution and By-Laws to the Council. Having been discussed amended and updated in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order, the document was unanimously approved. This new 12 page document is now the official Constitution and By-Laws of the Central Jersey Council. Any Council member wishing a copy of this document can receive one at any Council Meeting or by contacting Council President Daniel Dermer.

Angel Program Soars to New Heights

This years Angel Program surpassed the previous years milestones by a wide margin. Thanks to the efforts of Cathy Kobilis, Denise, Fran Varga and a whole host of elves, over 800 Angel Gifts were distributed. Gifts were sent to Coast Guard Sector New York, Commands, Stations and Cutters. Others were sent to Naval Weapons Station Earle and many still remained. As a result of the generous donations from members from Tilcon Corp. As well as Angel Sponsors, many gifts were sent to underprivileged children in the Central Jersey Area. This magnificent program continues to grow because of the heartfelt generosity of all those who help out and/or donate to it. BRAVO ZULO to all participants.

Central Jersey Council Greets Senator Bob Menendez

Central Jersey Council Greets Senator Menendez and Congressman Rush Holt.
Council members William Aitken, Daniel Dermer and Dick Ehlert recently had the opportunity to meet Senator Menendez and Congressman Rush Holt Our Council representatives were able to give both men information about our Council. The liaisons from both the Senator's and Congressman's offices were very interested in the Council's work and dedication. Both offices plan to meet with the Council's representatives in early 2007.
