25 year old Army Staff Sgt. Edward Karolasz, of Powder Springs, N.J.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.; was killed on November 19th when an IED (improvised explosive device) detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Bayji, Iraq. Also killed were 1st Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, Cpl. Jonathan F. Blair, and Spc. Dominic J. Hinton.
